The amount of inquiries that I get for Little Fins is always appreciated yet also overwhelming because of how excited I get when people I don't know personally would like their little ones to learn to swim and be safe in the water with me! The step you have taken just by asking how my program works is also huge, so thank you. Little Fins Swim School is a small part of Infant Aquatics and I did my training right here in Central Florida with Joy McGinty at Southwest Aquatics/PediaSwim Academy. This is my 4th swim season and as you might imagine it will get busy once the weather in more consistent. With that I am providing you this information in hopes that you will beat the summer rush and get your child ready for the spring and summer as soon as possible.
Lessons will be starting for new students (Basic Training program) on Monday, March 3rd in Apopka (early afternoon only) (private residence), March 10th & March 24th in Apopka (mornings only). Celebration (Lakeside Park pool) late afternoons & early evenings will begin Monday, March 24th. Hunter's Creek (private residence) will start on an as needed basis starting March 24th also. Other dates your child could begin lessons are March 31st, April 7th, April 14th, May 29th (only date lessons would start on Thursday). Please note Miss Marci is the only instructor so she works with your schedules as best as possible and throughout the year will be adjusting the times that she is at each location in order to help accommodate every students.
The Basic Training program, which all of your children would be eligible for, consists of 4-5 weeks of 15 minute lessons Monday-Thursday. Fridays are reserved for weather make-ups on designated dates as needed, weekends are not available. Every student swims with Miss Marci one on one and depending on their age they will learn to roll from front to back and if older than 12-15 months they will actually learn to swim and then roll to rest. Students are not generally developmentally ready for learning much more than that until they are closer to 2 years old, but every child is different. Children older than 5 taking the program for the first time may complete their Basic Training program a bit quicker, but again they are all different. All children will take a "test" during their last week of the program, this test consists of them wearing shoes, pants, long shirt, and real diaper (if they still wear one), see a "test" here.
Pricing is as follows: Basic Training: $90/week, $360 totalMaintenance Lessons: $15/lesson or 10 lessons for $135 (1 free Maintenance lesson!)Basic Training + 4 Maintenance Lesson package: $390 (2 free Maintenance lessons!)The first two weeks of payment are due at the first lesson, then weeks 3, 4, and 5 (if needed) will be paid on Mondays.
Note: Miss Marci may be on the hunt for a new pool in Hunter's Creek (the current home being used is for sale) so if you are willing to allow other children to swim at your pool Little Fins may be able to offer a discount on your child's lessons. Email Miss Marci if you might be interested or know of someone, the only requirement is that the chemicals are taken care of and it is heated.
Reusable swim diapers are required at all locations, these can be purchased at babywear.com, diapers.com, or I have a limited supply. This being said if your child arrives in a disposable swim diaper you will be asked to change them and put them in a reusable diaper.
